The plants at the creek mouth are doing great! We went out and replicated a few of our pre-project photos sites. The site is full of poppy and sunflower blooms. We caught a house finch busily feeding on the sunflower seeds.

Creek Mouth Restoration Project Update

The Carpinteria Creek Mouth is full of growth. The native plants that were planted only a few months ago are showing significant growth. The Coast Sunflowers are currently in bloom and bringing beautiful color to the site. Below are some photos of the sites progress. The project will require some maintenance through the summer, in the form of weeding and watering to insure that the native plants get established. Thank you, to all of the volunteers that have helped with the project. We hope to see you Saturday, May 14th, for our next restoration work day, and for the Carpinteria Creek Watershed Coalition's 10 year celebration.

Creek Mouth Restoration Event and CCWC 10 Year Celebration!

Please join us for our next restoration work day on Saturday, May 14th. The event will coincide with a celebration of the Carpinteria Creek Watershed Coalition's 10 year anniversary. We will be focusing our efforts on the removal of non natives from the site. We will meet from 9 -12pm, at the creek mouth with in Carpinteria State Beach. Please wear appropriate attire and remember to pack sunscreen and water. Please stay for the celebration which will be held in the grass lawn area adjacent to the creek mouth, from 1pm-4pm. Creek Mouth planting this Monday, January 17th

Join us at the Carpinteria Creek Mouth on Monday January 17th, for the Martin Luther King National Day of Service. We will be working to plant additional native species as well as hand remove some ice plant. We will meet from 9am to 2pm, at the Mouth of Carpinteria Creek with in the State Park. Creek Mouth planting this Sunday, December 19th

This last weekend we had two very successful work days out at the Creek Mouth. In total we had over 50 volunteers come out to help. All of the black plastic is now out and almost all of the plants are in the ground. There will be one additional volunteer event before the end of the year. This coming Sunday, December 19th from 9am - 2pm we will be out to finish the planting and do some hand removal of ice plant at the site. If you have any questions please feel free to email us.
