Carpinteria Creek Mouth

The Carpinteria Creek Mouth restoration project is located at the mouth of the creek at Carpinteria State Beach, on State Parks property. The goal of the project is to increase the habitat and ecological value of the mouth of Carpinteria Creek by removing non-native flora and the planting of native flora along the banks. The project will also allow for volunteers and visitors of the Carpinteria State Beach to learn about habitat restoration and the importance of the Carpinteria Creek Watershed.

Creek Mouth planting this Monday, January 17th

Join us at the Carpinteria Creek Mouth on Monday January 17th, for the Martin Luther King National Day of Service. We will be working to plant additional native species as well as hand remove some ice plant. We will meet from 9am to 2pm, at the Mouth of Carpinteria Creek with in the State Park. Please wear appropriate attire and remember to pack sunscreen and water. Please contact us with any questions or if you are interested in attending. Check back in February for the second round of planting dates.

Working with the various project funders and partners, South Coast Habitat Restoration, is managing the grant funding for the project and coordinating operations between the project partners. SCHR is a local non-profit organization based in Carpinteria that is dedicated to environmental stewardship and habitat enhancement. We emphasize steelhead trout recovery through a variety of watershed restoration projects throughout Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
